The farm I use for my CSA is Stony Hill Farms in Chester, NJ. Though Chester is about an hour away from where we live, after doing some research I was excited to find out that this particular farm would deliver directly to my building!
I can see a lot of people being turned off by joining a CSA. Maybe it’s because you don’t know where to look to find one or perhaps the logistics of it all is leading you to believe it’s impossible. This was the case with Ryan and I as home delivery was essential because driving to a farm somewhere after work or on weekends seemed like it would be problematic with our busy schedules.
Whether it be you’re overwhelmed with how to get your search started or you think it’s going to be a logistical nightmare, I’ve got some good news. The best resource I have found in order to match you up with a CSA plan that is best to suit your lifestyle is Local Harvest. They have a vast network of small farms not only the Greater NYC Area but all across the US (I’m looking at you, Mid-West friends). Visit their site, do some research, get started helping your local farms and start eating deliciously!
