Blog Name Change & CSA Week #8: 08.06.17

We had a busy weekend with friends.  We went fishing, hiking and did plenty of cooking.  I also tasked everyone with helping me come up with a new name for the blog since we no longer eat at a “city table”.  While I was grilling burgers and chicken apple sausage from Griggstown Farm, the group came up with a few good ones including my favorite and now the new name: Butternut Supper Club.

This started a lengthy conversation about acutally starting a supper club out of our house in our little New Jersey town.  I’ve started reading some articles about how one would go about this and it seems pretty interesting and like it would be a lot of fun…

Anyway, by the time Sunday evening rolled around after hiking and grilling and brainstorming and more eating… I felt a serious cold creeping on.  The last thing I wanted to do was set up my produce for a photo – I could barely even put my produce away. No photo of the produce this week but I did doodle a “logo” for the new name.

Here is what we received in Sunday’s bushel:

  • Pint of Blueberries
  • 4 Peaches
  • 3 Zucchini
  • 1 Parsley
  • 2 Yellow Onions
  • 4 Green Peppers
  • 2 Nectarines
  • 1 White Eggplant
  • 6 Kirby Cucumbers
  • Quart of Green Beans
  • 2 Tomatoes

Meat Share:

  • 4 pack of sweet sausage
  • 1 lb Ribeye
  • 1 lb pack of Bacon
